Skydancer This painting was inspired by a meditation on the theme of the Phoenix. In the west it was regarded as a symbol of resurrection whereas in China it was associated with good omens, sincerity, righteousness, humanity, and integrity. The ancient Chinese regarded it as a spiritual/heavenly creature and it was a symbol of the empress and the element of fire. The original painting 90cm x 69cm was done on Ingres paper using mainly pastels. A4 print with bevelled mount in textured ivory approx 41cm x 33cm
